Male Parkinson's CLass

MA

These classes are designed specifically for men who have Parkinson’s disease. The principles behind the exercises in this class are based on neuro-scientific research and include: large-amplitude movement, completeness of movements, and maximal effort with movement. Physical exercise and socialization are the focus of this class.

These classes are designed for people with chronic diseases (such as Parkinson's, cancer, diabetes and arthritis), or any condition that causes limited ranges of motion. Various formats of exercise are presented by specialized instructors with skill sets such as yoga, Zumba, TRX, spinning, corrective exercise, functional movement, resistance, and core training.

y-change diabetes prevention program

This is an 8 week lifestyle change program for preventing type 2 diabetes through nutrition, physical activity and behavior modification. There are 86 million Americans at risk for type 2 diabetes. Losing a small amount of weight, getting 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week and eating healthy can prevent or delay the onset of diabetes by 58 percent.

Blood Pressure
self-monitoring program

The YMCA Blood Pressure Management Program is a 4 month program designed to help participants with hypertension lower their blood pressure through an evidence-based program by developing the habit of routine self-monitoring and tracking their blood pressure.

Research shows that the simple process of checking and recording your blood pressure at least twice a month over four months may lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure.
