Lifeguard Recertification Course-This program allows individuals to recertify current lifeguarding. It includes lifeguard, first aid and CPR/AED certification. Parent's Night Out-Parent’s Night Out is an opportunity for parents to enjoy a night out knowing their children are being cared for in a safe and fun environment! Children ages 18 months to 12 years old will enjoy games, arts and crafts, gym time, and a movie.  Click here for more information.

Lifeguard Certification Course-This program allows individuals to become certified lifeguards. It includes lifeguard, first aid and CPR/AED certification. Prerequisites for the course: Must be at least 15 years old and be able to swim 300 yards continuously breaststroke or freestyle or a combination of both. Must be able to start in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 9 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps all within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Tread water for 2 minutes without using your hands.  You must pass the prestest on March 19th in order to register for the course.  Click here for more informaiton or contact cmathews@family-ymca.org or 540-735-9622 x 2034.

The Wounded Warriors-Team River Runner Grand Opening-9am-12pm.  Team River Runner (TRR) program is a national, non profit 501 (c) (3) network, which creates innovative paddling programs designed to assist with the recovery of those injured (physical or mental) while serving our country. Discover Scuba-1-4pm. Come learn what Scuba Diving is all about!  This 3 hour program will give you the opportunity not just to try scuba but learn how air is compressed by water, about buoyancy, equalizing air spaces and much more.  In the water you’ll learn how to clear a mask underwater, how to recover and clear a regulator and how to share air with a buddy.  This program is essentially the whole first lesson of the open water certification course.  This introductory class is simple, fun, entertaining and educational.  Cost is $20.  Click here for more information or contact Scuba Shack-Ralph Clark at

Silver Prom-
The Ron Rosner Family YMCA is hosting their 8th Annual Silver Prom on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. This event is for our Senior Community (50+) and will be free thanks to the wonderful support from Heartfields Assisted Living at Fredericksburg and other amazing organizations throughout our community. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served. There will be lots of dancing, entertainment, door prizes, a prom picture and much more.  So come dressed in Sunday best or better and enjoy this year's theme--"A Night on Broadway".  Click here for more information.

The Ron Rosner Family YMCA of Spotsylvania County is a branch of the Rappahannock Area YMCA. Thanks to the support from Spotsylvania County and our community, the Spotsylvania Family YMCA opened its doors on July 23, 2003 with a full facility: Gymnasium, pool, wellness/fitness center, aerobics/group fitness studio, spinning room, youth classrooms, Kidz Corner nursery, pavilion and playground "For All" which allows children of all abilities a place to play. In 2009, thanks to the support from Ron Rosner, our facility was renamed to the Ron Rosner Family YMCA of Spotsylvania County.

The Ron Rosner Family YMCA is part of a powerful association of men, women and children committed to bringing about lasting personal and social change.
