Beer, Brats and Poker!

AOA Sponsored Guys Lunch

AOA invites you to a friendly game of no stakes poker. We promise the Brats and the deck will be hot but the mugs of Birchbeer or Rootbeer will be frosty cold!  What, you thought we would really  serve you beer?  Good Poker Face huh?

AOA Potluck Luncheon

Our next luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10 at 11:30am.  Bring a friend, and dish to share and enjoy some socializing.

AOA Lunch Club

Monthly field trips to local restaurants to taste our local quisine.  Watch the bulletin board and sign up for our next lunch outing. 

Steamers in Dahlgren 4599 James Madison Pkwy.  Menu available at www.steamersseafood.net We will meet there at 11:30am on Tuesday, January 24.  Please sign up on the lobby board so we can make reservations.

Active Older Adults

A.O.A. (Active Older Adults) Young at heart is the YMCA's designation for programs and activities designed to encourage an active lifestyle and social interaction for individuals age 50 and over.  "Socials" are held several times through out the year and are free to Y members.  Programs include floor and water group fitness classes, yoga, and cycling.  Check out the A.O.A Bulletin Boards at each YMCA Branch for events and information.

Vicki King
Aquatics Director

Vicki has worked for the YMCA part-time since the 90’s.  She moved here from Wisconsin to take the full time position at the King George YMCA.  She is married and has 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

She is a licensed EMT and holds certifications in water exercise, lifeguarding and CPR.  She is 1/2 way thru completing her Masters Degree in Education.

Her personal motto is “Life isn’t waiting for the storm to pass, it’s learning to dance in the rain”.  She loves having the members come to the Y, especially when they use the pool.  Come on in her door is always open.
