
School is OUT! It’s time for fun, sunshine, friendships and tradition. YMCA Summer Day Camp is an action packed, full-day experience for children. YMCA summer camp reveals a fascinating world of field trips, swimming, storytelling, nature study, singing, arts & crafts, games, sports and much more! We incorporate core values—Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith—into all YMCA programs and activities.
Y Camp is for children K-4th grade Explorers are children 5th-8th grade
Teen Explorers are children ages 13-15
Camp Hours are from 8:30am - 4:30pm. If you need additional care, extended care is available from 6:30am-8:30am & 4:30pm-6:30pm at an additional cost.

SACC (Before and After School Care) 2010-2011 School Year

Challenges, stimulation and having fun is what our school age program is all about. This age group has talents, skills to develop, energy, and huge reservoirs of creativity. Let our staff work with your child to help him/her grow in spirit, mind, and body.

Program runs before and after school (6:00 am - 6:30 pm), servicing all Spotsylvania County Elementary Schools.
We also provide care during school breaks and on Teacher Workdays (please see Teacher Workday portion.)

8th Period 2010-2011 School Year

This program is a place for middle schoolers to hang out after school. Our staff will provide a safe environment where your child can connect with other people their own age. Whether they are here to do homework, shoot some hoops or hang out with friends, there is something for everyone to enjoy in 8th Period.
Program runs after school only until 6:30 pm. We provide care for children from Spotsylvania, Thornburg, Post Oak, and Battlefield Middle Schools.
Registration Fee: $35

The YMCA Preschool provides children with real experiences and exposure through a proven learning process. Our licensed, developmentally appropriate program allows children to explore pre-reading and math skills, as well as enhance fine and large motor skills. The 5-day, 4-year old program even has Spanish and swim time.

Learn to play music at the YMCA from a professional musician. Now enrolling all levels and ages. Group and individual lessons available. Classes are offered on Thursday evenings.

A hands on program designed especially for two year olds and their parents. Special emphasis is placed on socialization skills and providing new experiences through art, music, and gym. Come wearing your play clothes and be ready for some fun! Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00a.m.-11:30a.m.

We provide safe, fun, and affordable child care on Teacher Workdays. Our hours are from 6:00 am until 6:30 pm. We may schedule a field trip, which will always be under $10 and must be paid in cash. Please make sure your child brings a swimsuit, towel, a lunch, and two snacks. Registration is open to all children in grades K-5 for the SACC sites and K-8 for our Spotsylvania branch site. Please refer to our calendar of events for registration dates.

Let's get this "girls only" party started! Y-Girl LIFE (leadership, intelligence, fitness, expression) is about being healthy, active, and positive. Your child will learn to cook and eat healthy, make positive decisions, do arts and crafts, stay physically fit, and go on educational trips. Each session meets on Saturdays from 11am - 1pm. For young ladies ages 7-13.

If you are a teen and looking to make a difference, come and join our Teen Leaders Club. We focus on leadership, volunteerism, academics, fundraisers, self esteem, and good character. Activities include monthly "Fun Five Dollar Nights," trainings, trips, and community service projects. The club currently meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday evenings beginnin in October from 6 pm-8 pm.
